“There are no uninteresting things, only uninterested people.”
—G.K. Chesterton
It’s week 3.
Make sure that you surround yourself with people who are real. These are the people who will help you succeed.
I’m not going to suggest that you surround yourself with people who are “as invested in you as you are in you” because those people rarely exist outside of a select few in our lives.
Instead, aim to fill your inner circle with people who deeply and intimately know what they want in life, regardless of if it coincides with what you want. These people will help you stay on course much better than anyone who “has your best interest in mind” because they themselves will show you how to live a congruent life simply by living their own.
These people who live an authentic life will also authentically care about what you do, regardless of the topic. If your hobby is watching paint dry or watching grass grow, the people in your inner circle should be entirely and wholeheartedly jazzed to hear you talk about it. If you find that your inner circle may be a bit lacking, send me an email for some info on Iron Legion’s upcoming accountability group.
