“In everybody’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”
—Albert Schweitzer
As we all know, motivation can be fleeting. Waking up ‘on the wrong side of the bed’ is sometimes all it takes for you to throw in the towel and say enough is enough.
In the same vein, one chance encounter is sometimes all it takes to stoke that inner fire back into a roaring inferno. Finding someone who really knows how to inspire you might seem like an impossible task, but you’ve surely experienced it before. The real magic then is cultivating that relationship to the point where you can readily count on a little burst of motivation each time you see your person; whether that’s your spouse, a friend or training partner, or your coach. Having someone in your corner to boost you up is important, and although we always extoll the virtues of ‘dedication over motivation’, there’s nothing wrong with finding a little extra motivation here and there.
If you’ve worked with a coach before and have had a similar experience to what I just mentioned, I’d appreciate it greatly if you could leave a Google review for others to peruse and find that same burst of inspiration that you did!
