“There are two ways to do something: The right way and again. You’ll be knocked down – that happens to everyone. Stand up. Dust off. Put your head down, and go.”
—Unattributed Navy SEAL motto
I had a hard time finding the source of this quote… it might be that the first complete sentence was an old motto, and the second half got added along the way and I found it on Instagram. No matter how it came to be, it highlights a poignant truth in life that if you want to evolve as a person, you will experience failure along the path of growth.
And that’s okay.
As we always say, once you fail, you have simply learned one method of how to not accomplish your task. You get up and try again and again until you learn the right way. Some lessons are harder to learn and take more attempts; some have bigger consequences that take longer to overcome. Regardless of the difficulty, you must keep trying because quitting is not the solution.
You are one member of a species derived from growth and evolution; you must never lose sight of your roots and you will continue to pick yourself up and go. Always forward.
