“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Trust. Without it we as a society would be nothing; with it, we create wonders. Friendships aren’t always encapsulated by a helping hand or a hearty smile… sometimes your deepest friends are there to tell you the hardest truths. That’s not to say laughs won’t be shared, but you need people in your corner who will encourage you to succeed while still holding you accountable for your actions. I can think of no deeper trust than that of relying on someone for their encouragement and reciprocal trust. Our gym community is full of coaches and peers who will encourage you to push beyond your limits and hold you accountable when you need it.
