“The inspiration you seek is already within you. Be silent and listen.”
-Rumi
Playing off of last week’s thoughts about staying true to yourself and not taking outside advice, I see this quote as encouraging you to be kind enough to yourself to allow space to think, breathe, and grow. Oftentimes, amongst the hectic and humdrum commotion that shapes our daily life, we rarely give ourselves enough time to ‘be silent and listen.’ When you do find time to slow down, whether it’s time spent in the mountains, a quiet morning with a cup of coffee, or even a pleasant date night with your partner, you may find your mind wandering a bit, listlessly dreaming about days gone by or plans yet to arrive. These are the moments that we must capture without crushing; seize without squishing. Finding stillness amongst the chaos and allowing ourselves to daydream again is the inspiration Rumi mentions… it’s dying to come out and we just need to give it a chance.
